About the exhibition
This is a special moment for Ine Lammers, as a wise, grey age approaches and her five-year artistic research project draws to a close (and thus marks a new beginning).
In the beginning, the philosophy of "Wabi-Sabi" (the perfection of imperfection) was an important start of her approach. The search for tactile dialogues between paintings and natural elements formed a fascinating field of tension where beauty, harmony and brutal interventions or additions became key ingredients. Oil paintings inspired by nature, combined with raw materials, gradually became her visual language.
This exhibition will present a carefully constructed concept of paintings that interpret the theme of flowers in a broad sense. Not less important are her installations, including textiles and iron. A challenging arrangement creates tension, but also the appropriate resting points. The exhibition will beautifully complemented by texts of wordsmith Elisa Candela.
"..., it's about flowers" is an overall concept that includes a poetic attempt to (briefly) stop time and the process of decay.
